Hands-on "Conics and tools to draw them"

Hands-om activity presentation (ita) (pdf)

Given the diversity of the groups of students attending the hands-on labs and therefore the different competencies in math, the researchers at the Math Machines Lab (MMLab) provide guiding forms either for basic or advenced levels. In both cases the forms provide a set of general questions about the structure of the machine and its functioning with the aim of stimulating the process of making assumptions and demonstrating. The advanced level forms also provide analitic geomerty questions leading to the equation of the curve drawn by the machine.

All the forms are the result of a collaboration between the Math Machines Association and the researchers at the Math Machines Lab in Modena, Italy. The educational material in this section consists of Power Point presentations and the forms provided during the lab sessions at the MMLab. Therefore, it has to be considered only a seed of a resource and not as didactic directions for teachers.
